85 million Pakistanis (40% of the population) live in poverty. Most of those living in poverty live in rural areas.
Hoopo turns local villagers into very small entrepreneurs (VSE) by placing them in charge of rearing up to five cattle, until slaughter.
Each VSE is carefully selected, trained and are required to follow a comprehensive research driven regimen of care.
As a return for their effort, each VSE gets a monthly paycheck (2.5 times the wage of a farmer with similar experience) for the livestock under their care, plus a share of the profit.
Investors buy into a group of livestock, rather than a single animal. This reduces the impact of any single loss to sickness, theft or death.
Once the cattle are raised to maturity, they are slaughtered and their meat is sold to either Muslims who purchase it as a form of charitable alms giving (Eid Ul-Adha) , or in the cash markets or to wholesalers.
The difference between the revenue we receive from meat purchases versus the cost to raise the cattle, pays the salaries of our very small entrepreneurs and provides a return to our investors as well.

Returns depend on the collective performance of all livestock in a cycle. Eight cycles have completed since 2018; six returned double digits, 2022 (floods and lumpy skin disease) returned 3.8% and 2025 returned 2.5%. No return is guaranteed.
