Do good and prosper

Hoopo is a social enterprise that transforms impoverished communities through the power of work.

Our unique investment model creates jobs that break the reliance on handouts, while delivering a return to our supporters as well.

We put your kindness where it counts.

Gift happier, healthier lives

We've helped reduce hunger in over 60 villages since 2019.

Last Eid, Hoopo helped gift Qurbani meat to 4,000 people across 1,600 families in 60 villages in rural Pakistan.

50% of the profits from raising and slaughtering Qurbani cattle go directly back into the hands of local farmers.

More than just meat

Your Qurbani donation also provides families access to weekly solar-power freezers to store their meat, which can preserve it up to 6 months after Eid.

For many families, this means they can eat meat more than once a year!

The cattle also provide local farmers with higher paying jobs, clean methane for cooking, and renewable energy and fertilizer for better crops.

Frequently asked questions

Your Qurbani/Udhiya price includes all the costs. Livestock are pre-allocated and paid for, and are hygienically and ethically treated. Hoopo has been overseeing the rearing of the specific animal for the past 4-6 months. The cattle are sacrificed during the 10th – 13th days of Dhul Hijjah. The meat is immediately distributed to people, prioritized by need. The remaining meat is frozen in solar powered freezers to provide the severely malnourished families 2kg of packaged meat on a weekly basis.

The words Qurbani or Udhiya or Zabiha in Arabic, refer to a sacrifice done in an effort to come close to God, honouring the momentous act of submission that Prophet Ibrahim made. The words "Qurbani" and "Udhiya" are used interchangeably. In commemoration of his sacrifice, we sacrifice from our wealth every Eid-Ul-Adha and share our blessings with people in need.

Beneficiaries who receive your Qurbani donations include widows, orphans, the destitute, the elderly, people with disabilities, refugees and disaster-affected or conflict-affected populations. Priority is given to those facing malnutrition, and those who do not have regular access to meat. Many of the recipients of Qurbani donations also live in difficult to access or remote areas. We make every effort to reach them to ensure that aid continues to reach the world's most vulnerable communities.

The Qurbani will take place in Goth Khan Sahab, Mehrabpur, Naushahro Feroze Sindh, 67211, Pakistan. The meat will be distributed to the poor and needy in this and neighbouring villages.

The animals used are livestock animals such as cows or buffaloes. One Qurbani order equals one-seventh of a cow or buffalo. The cost is inclusive of all costs associated including procurement and travel of the animal, slaughtering, cleaning and packaging of the animal and any applicable transaction costs. Any potential profit is shared between the local farmers (50%), the individuals who helped procure the cattle (40%) and the local entity who helped procure and distribute the cattle to the local farmers (10%). Any loss of the sale is borne solely by the investors (100%), thus truly benefiting the local farmers and agriculture supply-chain cycle. Hoopo is a Not-For-Profit organization and does not take any element of the funds for the organization or its volunteers.

Hoopo performs the Qurbani & Udhiya during the first day of Eid al-Adha (10th of Dhul Hijjah) and the ensuing days of Tashriq (11-13th of Dhul Hijjah). Within some schools of thought in the Islamic tradition, it is a recommended act to avoid cutting your hair and nails from the 1st of Dhul Hijjah until your Qurbani is performed. As Hoopo performs all sacrifices between the 10th and 13th of Dhul Hijjah, it would be safest to wait until sunset of the 13th of Dhul Hijjah to trim one's nails and hair. However, every effort will be made to complete the sacrifice on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah.
